Opening in 2015!
The official groundbreaking on October 17, 2012 launched construction of St. Joseph's Hospital-South, the first not-for-profit hospital to serve southern Hillsborough County.
When it opens in 2015, St. Joseph's Hospital-South will set a new standard for health care in this community. Our Emergency Center will include 30 private exam rooms, giving patients quiet and privacy as our staff takes care of their urgent needs. Those who require extensive services will be cared for by our team of experts supported by the latest in technology and patient-focused design.
The new hospital also will feature a 16-bed intensive care unit for patients with the most complex medical and surgical needs, a 14-bed mother/baby unit to support growing families and 60 medical/surgical beds for patients with various health issues.
Our surgical and interventional platform will include four operating suites for general, orthopedic, outpatient pediatric and urological surgery as well as two interventional radiology/cardiac catheterization suites and two endoscopy suites.
In total, the 352,000 square-foot hospital will include 90 private patient suites plus an additional 22 observation rooms.
Information about volunteer and employment opportunities is expected to become available in early 2015.
